Job description Job responsibilities We are looking for an outstanding Kitchen Assistant/Catering Assistant who's passionate about food and wants to make a difference.
You'll be working full time 40 hours a week (Across 7 days 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm Mon to Fri Sat/Sun at Cygnet The Oaks, creating an excellent experience for the people in our care.
Cygnet Oaks is a 35 bed service specialising in high support inpatient rehabilitation (level 2) for men, providing a multi-disciplinary treatment programme designed to assist individuals with their return to independent living.
Depending on the individuals level of need, at Cygnet Oaks we provide different levels of support in 2 wards, the Lodge and the House; Lodge this is a 20 bed admission ward where most service users will start their recovery journey at Cygnet Oaks.
Individuals who are admitted to this ward are generally stepping down from an acute or a low secure service House a 15 bed service for individuals to continue along their care pathway.
The Lodge also contains a 4 bed step-through service.
This is situated in its own corridor and has a separate living space to prepare and develop individuals towards a community placement whilst still having input from the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Your day-to-day...
Assist in the preparation of balanced, appetising meals Perform cooking tasks & other kitchen duties Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas & dining room Wash utensils, dishes & make sure they are stored appropriately Rotate stock & put away all deliveries Maintain personal hygiene to comply with Cygnet standards and food hygiene regulations Handle, maintain & store kitchen equipment in accordance with Cygnet procedures Use chemicals in line with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations Why Cygnet?

Experienced in catering, preferably within a care setting The holder of a food hygiene certificate, with good personal hygiene standards Enthusiastic, keen to learn & an active team member Polite & professional, with a positive attitude at all times An excellent communicator able to liaise with people at all levels Diligent & take pride in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness Able to work on your own initiative, as part of a team & under supervision Successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
