We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to work in The Langford Centre, our mental health hospital based in Bexhill on Sea.
The Langford Centre is a 63 bedded Mental Health Hospital.
The purpose of this role is to assist the Chef with food preparation and cleaning, to deliver a high standard of catering within the kitchen environment.
Further key responsibilities of the Kitchen Assistant include; Preparing food and assisting the chef with cooking.
Ensure all aspects of hygiene and appropriate legislation are adhered to in relation to the preparation and storage of food.
Responsible for the day to day cleanliness of the kitchen; adhering to the cleaning schedule in place.
Assist with the unpacking and storing of food deliveries.
Ordering cleaning products for the kitchen.
Assist with the movement of hot trolleys across the site to transport meals to the wards.
To adhere to the Food Hygiene Act 1995 and associated requirements introduced by the Food Standards Agency.
About you, the successful Kitchen Assistant; Food hygiene certificate of level 1 or higher Prior experience as a kitchen assistant or similar role Knowledge of COSHH and Health and Safety standards Able to work well in a team and follow instruction with good communication skills Knowledge of maintaining a clean, tidy, safe and hygienic environment Positive attitude and professional demeanour Good knowledge and understanding of Food Safety and HACCP practices What's in it for you?
