Job overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 post on Whatman Ward.
This is a 21 bedded inpatient with an Acute Frailty Assessment Unit.
The aim of this assessment area is to triage patients transferred from ED, SECAmb and GPs and complete a comprehensive geriatric assessment.
This will allow the MDT to provide a holistic approach to patient care and aims to discharge patients safely into the care of the community pathways unless an acute admission is required.
The role requires excellent communication skills and strong leadership qualities.
The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of shifts ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered.
The role will involve managerial duties and supporting the team through changes within the NHS.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions.Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.
The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites.
The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.Please note that appointment to this post will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service Check at Enhanced Level.
