Job overview An exciting opportunity in Ward 11 has arisen in our wonderful ward.
We would like to give our trained nurses a chance to enhance their knowledge and hone their skills.Ward 11 is an acute surgical ward consisting of 29 single ensuite rooms.
The ward receives patients from A&E and Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) with conditions including Tracheostomy, Quinsy, Tonsillectomy, Appendicectomy and Cholecystectomy Bowel resection.The ward is primarily run by our highly qualified nursing team, but also includes consultants, clinical nurse specialist, physiotherapists, healthcare assistants, dietitians and housekeeping staff.
Main duties of the job You should possess excellent communication skills, be able to adapt to any situation and be able to demonstrate leadership skills.
You should be able to support change and keep within confines of the budgets.
You must be prepared to teach others your invaluable skills and attend regular updates; you will have the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team whilst being a role model to others, you will aid the running of Admissions on a day to day basis ensuring high standards of care are given.
Practice Assessor qualification is desirable.You will act as a support to new staff members and work alongside patient improvement projects.

Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust's 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics.
The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites.
