In this role, you will be a professional role model, leading and coordinating the nursing team.
You will have responsibility for the management and organisation of the day unit within the available resources in the absence of the Senior Sister.
You should be able to safely coordinate the unit and ensure that there are education and training opportunities for all staff.
Main duties of the jobAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking to develop managerial skills within the Trevor Howell Day Unit.The successful applicants will join a highly skilled specialist team that offers treatments including SACT and supportive therapies to patients with solid tumours as well as malignant haematological conditions.The candidate will ideally have completed a recognised SACT course, have experience in administering SACT, and possess venepuncture/cannulation skills.Management experience is desirable but not necessary as training and support will be provided.The post holder will be expected to provide and maintain high standards of care to our patients, meeting trust values, and must be able to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team.
