The successful candidate will work with the team to provide expert support to day cases at the Royal London Hospital, managing the workload according to daily demands of the haematology day unit, liaising and working with the MDT structure of the unit on behalf of the patients.
They will need:
To understand fully clinical haematological conditions; sickle cell, thalassaemia, myelodysplasia, haemophilia, clotting disorders, ITP, polycythaemia, haemochromatosis, iron deficiency anaemia and others.To administer infusions, transfusions, venesections and automated red cell exchange transfusions.To participate and maintain the effective communication of information between team members, patients and offer support and advice.The successful candidate will also play a critical role in mentoring junior staff, being a role model and participating in continuous improvements in the Haematology Day Unit.
This full-time, permanent position is ideal for a nurse with a strong background and experience in an acute setting.
