Position: Junior Quality Assurance Technologist Location: Rubery, Birmingham Work Hours: Monday Friday, 9am 1pm (flexible; can be discussed).
A full-time opportunity may arise in the new year.
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (pro rata, negotiable) Our client is an international food import/export company looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quality Assurance Technologist to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to gain hands-on experience in quality assurance and food production processes.
Key Responsibilities: Assist in conducting quality checks during manufacturing, filling, and packing processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
Support the review and monitoring of the production line, from ingredients and premixing to finished products.
Help identify and correct minor process deviations, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout production.
Collaborate with the QA team to ensure proper storage and handling of products in line with company standards.
Assist in logging and reporting any deviations from customer requirements or internal processes.
Support the team in ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Help prepare for internal and external quality audits, contributing to the continuous improvement of QA processes.
Skills & Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a quality assurance or food technology role, ideally within the food manufacturing industry.
A Quality Assurance qualification or certification would be desirable.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to learn and apply new processes quickly.
Basic understanding of food safety regulations and quality standards (knowledge of EU and UK regulations is a plus).
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
