The role We're now looking for a motivated Junior Infrastructure Engineer to join the Jensten Group.
Reporting to the IT Service Desk Team Leader, the main part of the role is to assist in the maintenance and support of our IT infrastructure, providing first and second-level technical support.
This role involves responding to inquiries, diagnosing technical problems, and ensuring effective resolution or escalation of issues to ensure optimal IT service delivery.
This is a brand new role, some key objectives & responsibilities will include: Respond to and resolve technical support requests via phone, email, and in-person.
Assist in the maintenance and administration of servers, networks, and storage systems.
Record, track, and document service desk requests, actions taken, and resolution details.
Ensure timely resolution of incidents in line with service level agreements (SLAs).
Support the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software.
Support the installation and configuration of operating systems and application software.
Maintain accurate records of service desk activities, including incidents, requests, and changes.
About you As our Junior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll have a strong teamwork ethic, communication, and collaborative skills with a keen eye for detail.
You'll work closely with other IT professionals, management, and various stakeholders to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure.

You'll also be or have: Proven experience in a technical support or service desk role.
Experience with IT service management (ITSM) tools and ticketing systems.
Proficiency in Windows operating systems.
Understanding of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Basic understanding of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure).
Knowledge of common software applications and enterprise systems (e.g., Microsoft Office, Active Directory).
Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.
Good understanding of ITIL processes.
