Junior / Graduate EC&I Engineer Location: South Coast, near Brighton Company: JTE Consultants Ltd Department: Engineering Reports To: Technical Director Position Overview: JTE, a specialized systems integrator with extensive expertise in the Energy and Utility sectors, is excited to offer an opportunity for a Junior / Graduate EC&I Engineer to join our growing team.

This role provides a chance to develop your skills across electrical, control, and instrumentation systems and get involved in a diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities: EC&I Design: Engage in EC&I design activities Electrical (E) Low Voltage (LV) design (BS 7671) Control and Instrumentation (C&I) design (BS 6739) and the design of control panels (BS 60204) PLC / SCADA Development: Assist in PLC/SCADA programming and configuration, supporting the development and implementation of control systems.
Industrial Networking: Gain experience in industrial networking, including the design, setup, and maintenance of network systems within industrial environments.
Cyber Security: Support initiatives related to Cyber security for industrial automation and control systems (IEC 62443) Instrumentation Specification and Selection: Contribute to the specification and selection of instrumentation, ensuring that appropriate equipment is chosen for project requirements.
Full Lifecycle Activities: Participate in full lifecycle activities on brownfield projects, including the creation of user specifications, test procedures, PLC software programming, and on-site testing as required.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that your designs meet high-quality standards, are completed on time, and are within budget constraints.
Site Visits and Meetings: Attend site visits and design team meetings as required to support project delivery and ensure alignment with client requirements.
Collaborative Work: Work alongside senior engineers and consultants in a team environment to successfully deliver projects.
Skill Application: Apply your newly acquired skills and knowledge in a variety of environments and projects, contributing to both the design and execution/commissioning phases.
Requirements: Education: Degree or HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Systems, or a relevant discipline.
Technical Skills: Good understanding of electrical systems, control systems, and instrumentation principles.
Software Proficiency: Familiarity with AutoCAD, PLC programming, and industrial networking tools would be advantageous although training will be given.
Functional Safety: Knowledge of IEC 61508/61511 & SIL levels would be advantageous although training will be given.
Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work that adheres to project timelines and budgets.
Motivation: A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning and professional development.
Knowledge of ATEX, DSEAR – Some knowledge of ATEX (Explosive Atmospheres) regulations would be beneficial although training will be offered.
Flexibility: Travel to client sites may be necessary.
