Job Title: Junior Estimator Reports to: Solutions Architect Salary Range: £35,000 - £45,000 Location: Kent Responsible for: A combination of pre- and post-sales responsibilities, including designing, costing, and occasionally overseeing the technical delivery and compliance of assigned solutions.
A background in physical security systems is preferred.
Main Purpose of the Role: Pre-sales support and solution design.
Key Responsibilities: Scope Definition and Cost Estimation: - Develop a clear scope and plan that aligns with project goals and the company's strategic objectives.
- Estimate time and financial commitments using advanced Excel costing tools to build detailed cost models and summaries, particularly for security-related projects, enabling informed commercial decisions.
Technical Solution Design: - Design and coordinate IP-based security systems and IT cabling infrastructure solutions, leveraging the latest technologies and working closely with strategic technology partners.
Documentation and Tender Responses: - Prepare comprehensive and technically detailed tender response documents, as well as other technical documentation, demonstrating strong written communication skills.
Site Surveys and Documentation: - Conduct site surveys globally and produce detailed project documentation for all stages, from design through to production of operational and maintenance manuals (O&M) and client handover/training materials.
Diverse Project Deployment: - Deliver projects across various environments, including education, healthcare, workplace, data centers, public spaces, and business-critical facilities.
Software Proficiency: - Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio) and AutoCAD to support design and project tasks.
Team Collaboration: - Work closely with internal teams, including project delivery and account management, to ensure project requirements are accurately captured and communicated.
Presentations and Client Engagement: - Collaborate with account managers to deliver internal and client-facing presentations, ensuring a clear understanding of the proposed designs.
Continuous Learning: - Stay updated with relevant training and self-directed learning to meet industry and company standards.

Experience and Qualifications - Demonstrated experience in estimating project costs, with at least two years of relevant experience.
- A solid understanding of physical security systems, IT, and cabling infrastructure solutions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
- Possession of a full UK driving license.
