Job summary Due to significantgrowth in the last year or so, TPC is now further developing its organisationalinfra structure and responding to new service development opportunities.
TPC already holds contracts for the deliveryof Dermatology and Minor Surgery services, and the provision of clinicians intothe Bradford Enhanced Access Service.
We have a Pharmacy Hub with cliniciansworking on behalf of Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and offering a Warfarin service to practices.
The TPC Pharmacy Hubprovides a supportive training platform for pharmacists and pharmacytechnicians working in Primary Care.
Pharmacy staff are integrated into the primary care team in PCNs.
We aim to provide training opportunities to pharmacytechnicians and pharmacists from under-graduate to senior level and offer awide range of career development options from education and mentoring to frontline primary care provision or specialist services.TPC is all about sustaining excellence in primary care in the long-termto the benefit of all of our user groups.
Main duties of the job The pharmacy technician will support the role of the pharmacist to deliver the Primary Care Network model of care, including supporting and assisting a cluster of GP practices.
The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe and cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care.
The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes in general practices, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.In addition, the post holder will be responsible for encouraging the development of better understanding of the principles of medicines optimisation throughout the practice teams and promoting good practice in line with therapeutic developments.
This will involve assisting PCNs in achieving national requirements, NICE implementation, and utilisation of medicines optimisation initiatives.Please see attached Job Description.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Professional registration with GPhC BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences Evidence of continued professional development (CPD) Experience of working as a qualified, registered pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital pharmacy Desirable Postgraduate qualifications of a relevant nature.
