Vivienne Westwood is looking for a Junior Buyer to join the Buying Team in the Conduit Street Office on a Full-time basis.
The purpose is to strategically maximise sales and profit opportunities to drive performance within the business.
As JB you will be responsible for managing the Jewellery and Soft Accessories lines and providing full support to the Senior Buyer and Head of Buying.
You will also be managing and developing the Assistant Buyer and Buying Admin Assistant.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assists Senior Buyer with budgets, schedules, and draft orders Prepares quarterly reorders of bestsellers based on analysis Manages orders, keeping records updated with AB/BAA support Prepares reports and meeting materials, adding input as needed Monitors sales, reports issues, and suggests improvements Collaborates with merchandisers and designers, sharing market insights and trends Recommends actions to optimise stock and sales Analyses sell-through to advise on open-to-buy Shares product insights across the business Tracks competitor trends Contributes to seasonal reviews and strategies.
Mentors AB and BAA Responds to priority emails promptly Resolves data discrepancies with departments Monitors stock deliveries and website uploads Flags online merchandising issues Organises UK shop visits Tracks and reviews pricing on lines PROFILE & KEY SKILLS Understands company and departmental strategy Maximises performance through proactive problem-solving and efficiency improvements Tracks department's best/worst sellers to optimise buying for sales Owns departmental sales and problem-solving, taking initiative in all areas Stays market-aware through competitor reviews Summarises best/worst sellers concisely in meetings Has a strong grasp of commercial results and their business impact Manages workload effectively Supports Senior Buyer, contributing to department success and workload relief Shows forward-thinking and customer focus in daily tasks Coordinates with merchandisers/customer care for phased product launches Communicates effectively with internal and external teams Balances range planning based on store requirements Understands VW's inter-company operations, proactively expanding knowledge Builds relationships, easily transferring skills to others Stays informed on AB/BAA work, ensuring high standards and deadlines Manages and mentors AB/BAA through delegation and monitoring Follows up on delivery issues and suggests solutions, maintaining delivery awareness Suggests department improvements for efficiency Receptive to feedback, presenting confidently at all levels Makes commercial decisions for profit maximisation Thorough knowledge of VW systems, effectively training new team members Consistently supports buying functions and identifies issues, providing solutions Suggests improvements during buying to assist Senior Buyer Manages pressure and prioritises workload Provides reports with sales and competitor analysis to inform strategy TECHNICAL SKILLS Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Strong awareness of upcoming fashion trends and potential bestsellers Skilled in building a well-rounded product range, with justifiable decisions In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape and comparative shopping Clear understanding of delivery windows, phasing, sales, and key dates Proficient in SWOT analysis, with informed, concise insights on key issues Strong numerical and analytical skills for performance and profit analysis Experienced with order and data management systems, able to train team members (Please note this is not an exhaustive list of duties and you may be required to perform additional duties to fulfil the requirements of the role) BENEFITS Staff discounts Training Health & Wellbeing support (includes Private Medical Health Insurance, EAP, Gym Discounts, Access to Financial Planning Service, etc.)
