We seek a Junior Buyer to join our team, ensuring our quality standards are upheld while driving innovation and efficiency in production.
Role Description The Junior Buyer will play a key role in sourcing materials and products, working closely with our suppliers to support Red Run's product and purchasing strategy.
In this role, you'll collaborate with our design and production teams to help translate creative concepts into commercial orders with our customers and suppliers.
This position involves tracking market trends, managing supplier relationships, and working within budgets to bring new, innovative products to life.
This role involves supporting quality control processes, overseeing production timelines, and sample approvals, deliveries while also enhancing relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, passionate about product quality, and understand the fashion industry.
Key Responsibilities Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, collaborating to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
Support cost negotiations and explore sustainable sourcing opportunities.
Critical Path management: Track the entire production process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products while adhering to the plan.
Product Sourcing: Assist in sourcing materials, trims, and other products to align with design needs.
Market & Trend Research: Track market trends, competitors, and pricing strategies to inform purchasing decisions and keep Red Run's collections competitive.
Order Management: Raise purchase orders, monitor minimum order quantities (MOQs), and help manage stock levels in collaboration with warehouse team.
Invoice Management: Check supplier invoices are accurate before being processed for payment.
Track returns as part of this process.
Pricing Support: Ensure all materials and products align with target costs, and work within established budgets.
Sample Management: Coordinate with suppliers to manage sample requests, review pre-production samples, and relay feedback to internal teams.
Data & Inventory Tracking: Update and maintain accurate data on all products, pricing, and supplier contacts.
Collaboration: Work closely with design to ensure seamless communication and collaboration across the product lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
Deliveries: Assess and compare shipping options and pricing as well as track deliveries to ensure timely arrival.
Assets management: Manage the asset inventory of all fabrics owned by the company.
Skills & Competencies Strong Organisational Skills: Ability to juggle multiple tasks and manage timelines effectively.
Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
Market Awareness: Interest in fashion trends, competitor products, and understanding of the landscape.
Attention to Detail: Ability to keep track of sourcing details, pricing, and delivery timelines.
Ensure all orders placed are accurate.
Commercial Acumen: Understanding of cost structures and retail pricing strategies.
Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to finding solutions in sourcing, costs, and product availability.
Experience & Qualifications Experience in buying, merchandising, or production within the fashion industry.
Understanding of Quality Criteria checking practices is a plus.
Proficiency in Excel or other data management tools.
