Join Our Talent Community Job Title: Junior Associate (Operations Commodities Desk / Fixed Term Contract) Location: London, U.K. Department: Operations Employment Type: 12 Months Fixed Term Contract Work Pattern: Full-Time Overview: Provide a professional service to all internal and external customers of the Bank, and ensure that all aspects of the day to day work is processed efficiently and correctly.
This role reports to the Head of Commodities Operations.
Provides operational support to the Commodity Trade Finance business area and external clients, delivering service within defined levels with strict adherence to the Bank's policies and procedures.
What You Will Be Doing: - Scanning of Documents under Letter of credit and logging in documents into Excel and Bank systems, Filing, Archiving and supporting TFS in any other administrative duties.
- Sanction screening all the parties in TI system with the documents presented.
- Carrying out Vessel check though IMB and Polestar and raising Transactional Enhanced Due Diligence (TEDD) - Providing a support service to the TFS L/C team by scanning all incoming presentations, filing and matching files to queries.
Maintaining accurate records of archived transactions.
- Scan all documents received into SharePoint and accurately record them in the system.
Filing of all transaction files and retrieval of files for queries.
Controlling the archiving of TFS records both on and off-site storage and maintenance of the archiving database.
- To scan all documents presented for BC/DRC purposes.
Keep accurate records of archived files and destruction thereof to save storage costs.
- To create and maintain a schedule for regular archiving and document control.
- Ongoing – Target to keep filing and archiving up to date in order to maintain space and order for live files.
- Maintain good working relationship with the TFS, CTS and contribute towards team success.
- Processing of Import LC for Commodity amendments, checking documents received from presenting Bank/Beneficiary and payments - Processing of Standby L/C's, Bid Bonds and Performance bonds amendments correspondence and charge maintenance.
Turning around transaction accurately and in a timely manner within the SLA - Issuance of Guarantees, Amendment and claiming of our charges at required periodic intervals for Commodities Clients.
- Processing Export LC for Commodity Clients i.e.
Advising, Amending, document checking and payment of documents - Process Assignment of proceeds.
Vetting and compliance checks are done on the assignee.
- Process discounts and loans, ensuring details are entered accurately into the Bank systems in line with Banks procedures and customer's facility and turnaround promptly to meet customer's expectation.
- To process Documentary Collections and Reimbursement for Commodity Clients.
- Undertake transactions documentation reviews, undertaking counterparty checks, AML checks are thoroughly undertaken.
- Resolve any queries received from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner, escalating when required.
- Work closely with Colleagues across all other functions to maintain a cohesive team ethos.
- To assist Manager and team members such as Audit requests and entering Nostro information, assist with other activities as and when required.
- Provide support for new projects for Commodity clients and initiatives which may require Operational dependencies ensuring that these can be supported alongside managing existing business requirements.
- Identify process improvements and system related efficiency opportunities related to Commodity trade and structured trade finance products.
- Ensure that all the day-to-day work is handled efficiently, correctly prioritized and processed within Customer/Bank limits with all the required approvals are in place in line with customer's facilities - Working flexible time and shift pattern to support commodity clients' requirements as transaction as to be turn around with SLA of 48 hours.
The commodity clients are very demanding for turnaround of transaction and ensure that we are sufficiently resources to meet the 48 hours SLA - Sunday work may be applicable as per requirement to cater the needs of the business.
- Assist with the team with Lean six sigma transformation.
- Willingness to expand underlying trade finance knowledge and learn new areas of trade finance.
Candidate Specification : • Microsoft office application, • Basic Knowledge of Trade finance products and relevant rules such as UCP, ISBP, URDG, URR, ISP98.
• No specific academic or professional qualifications are required • It is highly desirable if you have a minimum of 3 years office filing and archiving experience • It would be highly desirable if you would at least 6-12 months experience in Trade finance operations Department • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Strong Interpersonal skills being part of a very small team which will require cohesion and professionalism to provide a first-class service to clients.
