Package Description Contract: Permanent Part-Time (working on Fridays 1400-2200)Location: BBC Radio Sussex (Brighton) - Office Based onlyBand: C Job Reference: 19760 Extend: EX2324 Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 pro-rata depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

Job Introduction BBC Radio Sussex will shortly be launching a brand-new Friday night show, which will be broadcast across our BBC Local Radio stations in the South and South East.
Kamilah McInnis will present the show from 7-10pm, focussing on the African and Caribbean communities.
We will also look to feature content generated on this show on other parts of our output.
We're now looking for a talented, proactive studio producer to work on this show.
Creativity is really important in this role.
You'll be a good team player and you'll be brimming with story ideas to share with our audience.
You'll also have the ability to recognise how we can share those stories in a variety of ways, not just on the radio, but on TV and digital platforms as well.
Main Responsibilities Local knowledge of the patch is very useful, as is a passion for storytelling.
In our newsroom, no two days are ever the same.
You'll have the ability to tell stories from across the area, with a focus on the African and Caribbean communities.
You'll be great at telling those stories we cover in an engaging and creative way.
You will look to ensure a full diversity of voices, meeting high journalistic standards and observing the BBC Editorial Guidelines.
You'll have the ability to get the very best from our presenter and other colleagues who work on these shows.

The ideal candidate will be brimming with ideas for great content.
You'll understand how to tell a story in a way in which our listeners can understand and engage with it.
You'll be thinking about how to add value to an item using social media.
You certainly won't be relying on the same old guests… And you'll really care about reaching and engaging with a truly diverse audience.
You will be able to effectively respond to a breaking or developing news story.
