Description We are looking for a Job Coach to join us on a permanent, part-time basis, working 52 weeks per year, 12 hours per week.
The successful candidate will work with employers to identify roles for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) that are a good match for their strengths and aspirations, providing coaching and guidance to interns within their workplaces and working with employers to ensure they have the skills and confidence to maintain employment after the end of the Supported Internship.
This will include contributing to the achievement of learner outcomes and having a key role in their success.
Main Responsibilities and Duties: The following is an indication of the type and level of the main priorities expected of this role as directed by your line manager and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of duties or tasks: 1.
Apply supported employment values and ethics to engage with prospective interns who aspire to paid employment, enabling them to raise their aspirations and make informed decisions.
2.
Create and agree development plans for interns to gain and maintain employment working in partnership with interns, their family/ carers, employers and communities.
3.
Advise employers about the benefits, processes and practices to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, including negotiating any reasonable adjustments required to remove barriers to employment, whilst using appropriate assessment methods to identify the needs of interns and the analysis of jobs and employer requirements to enable a good job match.
4.
Ensure employer understanding, assessment and mitigation of risk, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Information Governance.
5.
Provide individualised support for interns in the workplace which meets their needs, including personal care needs where required and travel training for interns who require support to travel.
6.
Enable individuals in supported employment to be productive and integrated in their workplace  7.
Maintain accurate records which recognise and record the progress and achievement of interns and complete administrative tasks such as Access to Work claims.
8.
Actively participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD), in order to develop skills as a reflective supported employment practitioner.
All staff are required to: Complete mandatory annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with the number of hours set for their Department.
Travel between sites as and when required in accordance with their job role.
Undertake occasional evening and weekend work to meet the needs of the service.
Comply with and understand all aspects of legislation and College policies and processes relating to safeguarding, including promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people.
Comply with, understand and promote statutory and college best practice in Health & Safety at a level relevant to the role and responsibilities held by the post holder.
Comply with, understand and promote statutory and college best practice in respect of GDPR at a level relevant to the role and responsibilities held by the post holder.
Have access to confidential information which should not be disclosed to any other person unless in pursuit of your duties in compliance with GDPR or with the specific permission given on behalf of the College.
Actively take responsibility for their personal learning and development (informal and formal) reviewing and reflecting on their performance within their current role.
Promote, adhere to, understand and put into practice all college policies and procedures.

Attend and complete all mandatory training sessions or on-line computer based training packages as required by the college.
Undertake any other duties consistent with the key responsibilities and/or duties of this role as directed by your manager.
