On behalf of my client, a global Aerospace and Defence manufacturer organisation based in Greater Manchester I am pleased to present the opportunity for a Production Engineer on a permanent basis.
This role is primarily responsible for providing technical support for products within the Operations function.

You will be responsible for: Supporting the technical engineering input within Operations (Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain).
Supporting the technical justification for change control within an Operations environment.
Supporting the supply chain function with technical queries.
Supporting the Engineering (NPI) function with change control feedback.
Presenting change control technical rational into the Engineering Design Authority.
Supporting the implementation of fresh, cost effective, best practice technological methods which enhances operational performance and customer satisfaction.
You: An experienced engineer from a similar industry, able to demonstrate multi functional engineering competence.
Solid understanding of Lean Principles and process variation (Green Belt desirable) Solid understanding of Core Manufacturing tools and able to implement - OEE , Value Stream Mapping, Continuous improvement methods i.e.
Kaizen.
Solid understanding of APQP so to assist members of NPI Team.
Qualified to a minimum of HNC / HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with previous experience in electronic manufacturing (Aerospace industry experience is highly desirable).
Ability to problem solve a wide range of technical issues (Mechanical, Electrical & Process).
Microsoft Office experience.
Be proactive using methods so to prevent failures within Customer/Production - PFMEA or Ishikawa.
