As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced ITS Business Development Manager to join our team.
Role Overview: As the ITS Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our consultancy services department, driving growth through identification and pursuit of new business opportunities in adjacent ITS markets.
You will also provide strategic guidance to clients and ensure successful project delivery.
You will lead and build a team of consultants, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive business development initiatives.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects, contribute to industry advancements, and make a real impact on mobility.
We are seeking an individual experienced in business development to lead our expansion into adjacent Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) markets.
This role involves understanding our current offering and leveraging industry experience to drive growth.
With a fully established traffic engineering business and a team of 35 specialist traffic engineers, the ITS consultancy team will build upon this foundation.
Responsibilities: Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
Provide expert advice on ITS solutions, traffic engineering, and adjacent markets.
Lead client meetings, workshops, and presentations.
Project Leadership: Manage end-to-end project delivery, from scoping and planning to execution and evaluation.
Coordinate project teams, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
Monitor project progress, budget, and resource allocation.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of ITS consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Provide guidance on technical and strategic aspects of projects.
Conduct performance reviews and professional development planning.
Business Development: Analyse the market to discover new business opportunities, strategies and partnerships.
Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposal development.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote our ITS consultancy services.
Attend industry conferences and networking events.
Essential Skills: Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term plans and strategies Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with clients and internal teams Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends and data to make informed decisions Sales: Proven track record in sales and business development Qualifications: Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Planning, or related field (Masters preferred); or related experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in ITS consulting, traffic engineering, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of traffic management systems, intelligent transportation technologies, and urban mobility trends.
Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
Project management certification is a plus.
