Job Overview: As the IT Support Technician you will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of all hardware and software applications within the organisation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address IT needs, implement best practices, and drive efficiency and effectiveness across our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities: Hardware Management: Plan, procure, deploy, and maintain all IT hardware including servers, workstations, networking equipment, peripherals, and other devices. Develop and implement hardware refresh cycles to ensure systems remain up-to-date and meet organisational requirements. Manage vendor relationships for hardware procurement and maintenance contracts. Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams or external vendors. Applications Management: Oversee the selection, deployment, and maintenance of software applications used across the organisation. Ensure that applications are properly licensed, updated, and patched to maintain security and compliance standards. Work closely with business stakeholders to understand application requirements and recommend appropriate solutions. Provide user support and training for application usage. CRM Management: Oversee the selection, deployment, and maintenance of CRM software to support sales, marketing, operations and customer service. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define CRM requirements and customise the system to meet their needs. Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the CRM system, implementing processes for data cleansing and deduplication. Creating and maintaining automation and workflows User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and application issues, resolving tickets in a timely manner. Develop and maintain documentation, knowledge base articles, and training materials to empower users and improve self-service capabilities. Foster a positive customer service experience and promote a user-centric approach to IT support. Infrastructure Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect hardware and applications from unauthorised access, malware, and other threats. Monitor system logs and conduct regular security audits to identify and address vulnerabilities. Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures. VPN and Remote Desktop Management: Implement and manage VPN solutions to provide secure remote access for employees and external partners. Configure and maintain remote desktop services to enable remote access to company resources. Ensure the security and reliability of remote access systems, implementing encryption and authentication mechanisms as needed. IT Strategy and Planning: Implement IT strategies and initiatives aligned with organisational goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior management to identify technology trends and opportunities for innovation. Project Management: Manage IT projects related to hardware upgrades, application deployments, and infrastructure improvements. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate resources and track project progress to ensure successful implementation. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate technological risk, ensure compliance with ISO 27001 standards and represent the IT team in internal and external audits.
