It Service Manager

Details of the offer

A manufacturing company is seeking an IT Service Manager to lead a small team of two and serve as a key figure within the IT department. This role encompasses both day-to-day operations and involvement in shaping IT strategy and driving projects forward.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of hands-on technical experience and currently operate at a managerial level. This is a "player-coach" position, offering the opportunity to balance leadership with technical contributions.
The company places technology at the heart of its operations and is making significant investments in its IT infrastructure. They are looking for an IT Service Manager to support and advance these efforts.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the daily operations of the IT Support Team, ensuring efficient management and service delivery. Guarantee the availability and optimal performance of the ERP system and other critical business applications at all times. Cultivate and strengthen partnerships with the IT Managed Service Provider and other strategic vendors. Lead the implementation and execution of all IT infrastructure change projects. Provide strategic and tactical input into the direction of IT services and infrastructure. Develop and enforce IT and cybersecurity processes to safeguard the business, enhance resilience, and maintain compliance with relevant standards and regulations. Continuously enhance the end-user experience, driving satisfaction and efficiency. Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in IT management. Previous experience in a technical, user-facing IT role. ITIL Certification. Proficiency with current Microsoft Windows operating systems for both desktops and servers. Expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Teams, and Entral ID/Active Directory administration, as well as other Microsoft products. Proven experience in managing cybersecurity practices to align with best practices. A proactive attitude with strong self-motivation, ideally suited to a player-coach role. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication methods to suit different audiences. The capability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members. What you will gain
Enjoy a dynamic and engaging work environment with plenty of variety. Earn a salary of circa £55,000, based on experience. Benefit from a structured company training program to enhance key skills. Receive 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays. Access non-contributory private healthcare and critical illness cover. Take advantage of a generous contributory pension plan. Gain life insurance coverage equivalent to three times your salary. Utilize an employee assistance program for support when needed. Participate in a staff purchase scheme, allowing you to take home products free of charge. Please send CV if this role matches your skills and I will be in touch to discuss in more detail.
