OverviewThe IT Procurement and Software Asset Manager is part of the Certara Information Technology organization.
Accurate and timely execution of IT Procurement & Asset Management (ITAM) enables key corporate priorities by controlling costs, enhancing operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mitigating security, and financial risks.
You will be responsible for IT procurement operations in collaboration with IT & business users.
This role's primary responsibilities are executing on new & renewal procurement tasks while maintaining accurate asset utilization tracking, inventory levels, and ensuring business continuity.
We are looking for someone who can leverage their experience to improve service delivery and scalability in a global environment.
This is an individual contributor role, but the candidate should be comfortable leveraging the skills of cross-functional teams to gain successful outcomes.
ResponsibilitiesProcurementManage contracts and relationships to maximize value creation and costs for software licensing, maintenance, and service offeringsUtilize forecasting and data to drive on-time delivery of IT assets and strives to maintain business continuityPlan, procure, and schedule the acquisition of IT hardware, software, and related items through documented processesMaintain regular contact with vendors and suppliers to ensure value and operational support are metCollect information for budgeting, software compliance & inventory, contract summaries, and cost comparisonsAnalyze invoices to ensure accuracy of goods deliveredSoftware Asset Management Identify savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and servicesDevelop, implement, and refine software asset management policies, processes, and procedures.
Contribute to software process improvements and automationMaintain software standards, validate product lists, and maintenance contracts with the asset management database Reporting of the software installations and used licenses (gather and consolidate data, create software installation reports) Gather requirements and develop reports for internal customers.
As part of the vendor scorecard process, facilitates and participates regularly in meetings and discussions between the vendor and appropriate System and/or customer resourceManage asset retrieval upon employee exits, ensure assets are retrieved on a timely basisSupport Operational Standards, Diagrams, Policies, and ProceduresWork with IT Management to establish standards and policies for procuring and tracking assetsRecommend process improvements for problem preventionIdentify and develop written support documentationMeet with business stakeholders to improve operational policies and ensure the continued upkeep of role-based access methodologiesService delivery, transition, and design of the accepted processes for the creation of new servicesEstablish KPIs reporting on service delivery and utilizationParticipate in IT Projects and Ensure Long Term Drive to Consistency of Operations Drive successful implementation of technologies and servicesProvide constructive feedback on implementations with the goal of continuous improvementExecute projects using various technology solutions in an Agile frameworkImplementation/Execution: You are good at organizing and managing multiple priorities and/or projects by using appropriate methodologies and toolsInnovate: You introduce new ideas and processes which improve performance and productivityTake an active role in achieving operational effectiveness QualificationsEducation Required: Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related major or significant industry experience in a similar role for a $500M ARR organizationKnowledge of complex vendor software contracts, licensing terminology, and software licensing rights, especially for major software vendors (IBM, Oracle, Microsoft).
Must be able to interpret, analyze, & summarize contracts, and evaluate pricing & licensing proposalsExperience in conducting software vendor audits6+ years of related experience in an IT support organization 6+ years of related experience working with software requests, licensing, and licensing databases is preferred6+ IT Asset Management and Discovery Tools experienceProven experience working as a procurement specialistStrong written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate ideas and resultsTeam player with strong analytical skills and the ability to understand and resolve complex problemsConceptional knowledge of Information TechnologyThe ability to plan, delegate and evaluate progress toward goals is necessary for managing these projects.Ability to think, plan and work independently under general direction Strong knowledge of IT Service Management processes, as well as experience with Discovery toolAble to travel to meet vendors and suppliers as necessaryCapacity to consider governance and regulatory constraintsProven researching abilityAdvanced Excel skills to facilitate "Charge-back" & "Show-back" reports as requiredDemonstrated leadership skillsCertara bases all employment-related decision on merit, taking into consideration qualifications, skills, achievement, and performance.
