The Role Supporting the Head of Private Asset & Structuring and the wider Lloyd's Treasury and Investment Management unit to deliver key strategies with regards to private assets. Support investments in both direct and indirect private assets, and leading in certain strategies.
Principal Accountabilities Support the management of the private asset portfolio, both direct and indirect, in the Central Fund, across the gamut of private asset classes with the objective of increasing the returns (income and capital gains). Identify and originate private asset opportunities including direct origination within the SAA. This includes any relevant commercial negotiation, structuring the deal to suit Lloyd's and completing due diligence (leading on investment due diligence and overseeing other due diligence streams). Develop relationships with strategic partners over time to develop higher risk-adjusted returns through disintermediated origination. Convene cross-functional teams across tax, legal, finance, risk, and beyond to ensure any novel investment is structured appropriately. Identification of suitable private asset class fund strategies and appropriate 3rd party managers. Manage external stakeholders, lead due diligence and supervise onboarding for any Central Fund investment into a new third-party fund. Assist with the management of the private assets of the Corporation including working with other business areas that may sponsor certain investment opportunities. Assist in any merger and acquisition, disinvestment or other strategic workflows when requested. Support in any work out scenario involving any private assets. Support in any M&A, financing or other relevant support activities for portfolio companies where required. Skills Clear articulate communicator – exhibiting diplomacy, sound judgement and discretion at all times. Exceptional influencing skills with ability to find compromise when required. Strong commercial negotiation skills. Self-motivated, resourceful and highly proactive. Excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Strong intellect and agile mind. Excellent commercial acumen. Experience Working collaboratively within a team and stakeholders to deliver high quality outputs. Adherence to agreed governance processes and procedures. Track record of achieving exceptionally high professional standards. Demonstrated strong influencing and advocacy skills, and an excellent communicator. A creative thinker, able to deal with complex problems and develop innovative solutions. Track record of making investments in private markets. Familiarity with ESG reporting or making impact investments beneficial.
