Job Description Are you an accomplished investment professional with a strong background in discretionary portfolio management and team leadership? Our client, a highly respected financial planning and investment management firm, is seeking an experienced Discretionary Portfolio Manager & Branch Principal to join their team. You will play a pivotal role in managing client portfolios, developing new business, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while leading a skilled team of investment management professionals.
Key Responsibilities Client Management Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as their trusted investment advisor. Deliver bespoke portfolio updates and respond to client queries. Develop comprehensive risk management and tax planning strategies. Prepare and present reports and reviews tailored to client needs. Discretionary Portfolio Management Develop and execute tailored investment strategies across multi-asset portfolios. Monitor portfolio performance and make adjustments to optimise returns. Conduct detailed financial research and analysis to identify opportunities. Leverage financial modelling for informed investment decisions. Branch Principal Duties Ensure compliance with all the firm's policies, regulatory requirements, and risk-management standards. Manage branch operations, audits, and client accounts. Provide leadership, technical direction, and training to team members. Stay abreast of market trends and regulatory changes, ensuring best practices. Essential Skills & Experience Proven expertise in discretionary portfolio management and business development. Strong quantitative, critical thinking, and risk management skills. In-depth knowledge of investment and insurance products. Demonstrated ability to build a book of business (ideally bringing a client base). Effective communication, networking, and leadership abilities. Experience with financial planning tools such as FE Analytics or Morningstar is a plus. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field. CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or Certified Financial Planner qualification.
