Job Description The Investment Banking Associate is responsible for origination and execution of Debt Capital Markets transactions for Corporates and Financial Institutions across Western Europe. The Associate will participate in all client activities including marketing, structuring, execution and ongoing relationship management. You will be part of a dynamic team and will have great exposure to a number of teams including Syndicate, Investment Banking, Derivatives Solutions, Credit Sales and Trading, Corporate and Commercial Banking, Rating Advisory, Loans and Acquisition Financing across countries and industries.
Responsibilities: Play a key role in the origination and execution of investment grade bonds and financing solutions for Corporates and Financial Institutions across Western Europe.Be involved in idea generation and the pitching process, helping to win new business and developing Citi's franchise by building and maintaining client relationships at a junior level.Be involved in transaction structuring and tailoring of appropriate solutions for corporate and financial institution clients.Prepare and review presentation materials, including market updates, pricing updates and pitch materials.Manage internal processes and partner with Syndicate, Legal, Rating Advisory, Corporate and Investment Banking.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.Qualifications: Relevant investment banking experience required (ideally sector investment banking, capital markets, leveraged finance or derivative solutions).Fluent English. French, German, Spanish or Italian speaker strongly preferred.Credit and corporate financing analytical skills.Demonstrate ability to interact with clients and internal stakeholders.Financial modelling skills preferred.Good judgement, maturity and poise to enable interaction at all levels.Thoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusions.Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.Excellent organizational skills; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.Energetic, self-motivated and adaptable.Education: Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience, or higher.This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
