About Fundhouse Fundhouse is an award-winning independent London-based investment company providing investment insights and services to institutional investors globally, and UK-based wealth managers and independent financial advisers (IFAs).
The role summary We are looking for someone to join our London-based investment team to focus primarily on fund research (covering equities, fixed income and multi-asset), but who could also assist with other investment functions.
Ideally, the candidate will be driven, curious, and analytical, and prefer being part of a compact team that thinks differently to others.
The team takes a generalist approach to research responsibilities, so the candidate will be responsible for covering funds investing in all liquid asset classes.
We are open to speaking to people with varied experience, although ideally candidates will have at least five years of experience doing fund research.
Your submission will be read by the investment team, so please provide a covering letter.
Key details Level: Mid-senior level, must have good and relevant experience in similar roles.
Location: London, with flexibility on working from home.
Start Date: Q1 2025.
Required skills: proficiency in Microsoft Excel, strong analytical writing and presentation skills, working knowledge of python/coding a plus but not a requirement.
Role type: Permanent, full-time.
Salary: £60,000 to £100,000 base (plus discretionary bonus), depending on experience levels and skillset.
Key responsibilities The role will primarily involve evaluating existing funds and investment strategies employed by our clients and in our model portfolios.
Specifically, the role will involve: Quantitative and qualitative fund research across mainstream asset classes Leading and supporting fund manager interviews Writing manager research reports Undertaking new fund searches Contributing to peer reviews of fund reports presented by other team members Monitoring fund positioning and returns Organising due diligence meetings and documentation Attending conferences and events Supporting client relationships, including the production of client communications Providing support for other investment functions when necessary Candidate characteristics, experience and skills We think scientifically and are driven by evidence, so the candidate must be both numerate and analytically minded, although their qualitative skills will be important too.
An eye for detail and an ability to articulate their opinions clearly (both verbally and written) is a must, as is having a curious nature and willingness to dip deep into manager research.
Fundhouse has a small but growing team with an entrepreneurial mindset, so we are looking for a self-starter willing to be pro-active and 'roll their sleeves up' where necessary.
The candidate will have at least five years' fund research experience, with knowledge of traditional multi-asset funds and passive funds an advantage.
A broad and deep knowledge of asset management groups is also important.
Holding the CFA charter, or working towards it, would be an advantage but not a requirement, as would prior experience working with investment consultancy clients.
As well as holding interviews with candidates, we will also be testing their Excel proficiency and written skills, given the importance of both for a fund/investment analyst role.
Fundhouse is an equal opportunities employer with a progressive approach to the workplace.
We are committed to maintaining a supportive environment and will work with the right candidate to meet individual needs where appropriate.
We would encourage applications from all those who meet the core requirements of the role.
