Job Description 12 months contract with a Local Authority Job Summary: · You will take on the role of Communications and Engagement Manager within the Internal and Engagement communications team for a period of up to 12 months.
· The team is led by the Internal Comms and Engagement Lead.
· You will play a key role in team working alongside another manager and a senior executive providing expert advice to departments on their internal communications projects and campaigns.
· This is a busy operational team who are the heart of Met Office internal, strategy and engagement activity.
Key Duties/Accountabilities · Provide expert internal communications advice and support to different teams across the Met Office, ensuring their communications align with the internal communications principles and are planned on the forward look.
· Work closely with Directorate change partners to support the delivery of key piece of organisational change projects and initiatives.
· Be an active part of the internal communications team supporting the daily operational running and duties of the team including responding to enquires, monitoring of channels, providing ad hoc advice.
· Support a variety of internal communications channels such as MetNet intranet, viva engage, all staff briefings, town halls · Develop relationships and act as a trusted advisor with senior leaders and managers on internal communications.
Essential Experience Required: · Experience of working in internal communications or change communications is essential.
· Demonstrable experience of working with internal clients and departments to develop campaigns or deliver initiatives is essential.
· Demonstrable experience of communications project or campaign management and delivery, meeting challenging targets is essential.
· Experience to write creatively and convincingly and experience of latest communications techniques is essential.
Essential Qualification Required: · General education qualification is essential.
Additional information to note: · Working hours: 37 hours a week however part time/ flexi working will be considered.
· The role is Hybrid.
Work from the Exeter HQ office a minimum once a week, usually a Wednesday Plus ad hoc days as required.
