We have an exciting new opportunity for an Intensive Housing Management Officer who will join the neighbourhoods team to provide an intensive housing management service to residents living in designated older persons housing. The role of an Intensive Housing Management Officer will support tenants and help them to maintain their tenancies and remain living in their own homes.Specific responsibilities include:Carrying out accompanied viewings and signing up new tenant's to ensure that the tenancy is sustainable, appropriate support packages are in place where applicable and the prospective tenant is engaging with these servicesAssessing and identifying where a tenant may need assistance to remain in their home and assist with the installation of any aid and/or adaptation where required or sign post to the required services as appropriateUndertaking home visits soon after a tenant moves into their new home to ensure they are settling in, help them deal with any housing management issues and to understand their rights and responsibilities under the tenancy agreementProviding regular home visits to check the adequacy and safety of the accommodation and to carry out periodic tenancy audits to check on potential tenancy fraud and to support with reporting and monitoring of any property repairsRaising any safeguarding or concerns for welfare with Cornwall Adult Social Care in respect of any tenants who may appear not to be coping and to monitor any subsequent referralsIt is essential that you are educated to A-level or hold an equivalent level 3 qualification and that you have relevant and direct experience of developing or working in services for older or vulnerable people in relation to their housing needs, care or support.In addition you will have experience of working with vulnerable older people identifying and mitigating risks in relation to their health and wellbeing.
You will also have experience of working alone/with minimum supervision and supporting people who are vulnerable or who present challenging behaviour.You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills together with a good level of emotional intelligence and self awareness.
You will have the desire to help others and make a difference and demonstrate patience, diplomacy, empathy and consideration for others ensuring a calm rational reaction is given. The role requires the postholder to be able to transport oneself to various locations and requires a Standard DBS check.
