Inspector / Material Controller (Quality Control)

NO AGENCIES THANK YOU Document Control Administrator Role Description: The primary role of an inspector / material controller is to ensure materials, components and products meet the standards set by the business and our customers.
Key Responsibilities: Final inspection of completed products, including facilitation of 3rd party inspectors to ensure final product quality meets customer requirements.
DFT Paint inspection.
Goods inward inspection of component parts and raw material including associated certification.
Inspection of material chemistry using the XRF Positive Material Inspection (PMI) equipment.
Preparation of inspection reports.
Calibration of inspection equipment.
Management of the Rejects system ensuring RCA is completed and findings implemented Laser marking of components to ensure full traceability Assisting with stock control Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Ensure that Health & Safety and Environmental standards are complied with.

Essential Skills: Use of a variety of inspection and measuring equipment and techniques on small precision components Understanding of material surface finishes and tolerance systems Ability to read procedures and specifications A working knowledge of ISO 9001 Systematic approach to working.
Computer literate.
Working as part of a team and able to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
Able to read detailed machining and general arrangement drawings.
Engaged and enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
Desirable Skills: Knowledge of EN 10204 Material certification.
Knowledge of the concepts of valve assembly and testing.
Fault finding and problem-solving skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Forklift truck ticket.
Salary Attractive Salary - Depending on experience FRIDAY HALF DAY FINISH Working Hours 38.5 hours per week.
Monday to Thursday : 7:00am – 4.45pm – Lunch 12:00pm – 12.30pm Friday : 7:00am – 12:30pm Benefits: 33 days' annual leave comprising of flexible, statutory and end of year shut down holidays.
Statutory pension scheme in line with automatic enrolment.
Qualifications & Experience Apprentice trained or qualifications in engineering.
Experience of working in an environment driven by technical specifications.
3 Years minimum experience in the manufacturing industry, ideally working with valves.
