They are seeking an IT Support Technician to join their small but dynamic IT team, ensuring the availability and performance of their IT systems, including servers, switches, and telecoms.
Responsibilities: Incident and Problem Resolution: Respond to tickets on our helpdesk software, ensuring prompt resolution of issues.
Desktop Deployment: Distribute and maintain desktop equipment for users.
Server and Active Directory Management: Administer Windows Server environments and Active Directory, including GPO administration.
Virtualisation Technologies: Manage Hyper-V and VMware environments.
Network Management: Configure and maintain network switches and wireless infrastructure.
Security Maintenance: Ensure systems security, including virus detection and response.
User Support: Assist users with desktop applications, including Microsoft Office 2019, Dynamics Navision, and bespoke systems.
Documentation: Create and maintain system and service documentation.
Technology Trends: Stay updated with industry developments and recommend improvements.
Third-Party Liaison: Work with external contractors or companies to resolve complex issues.
Process Improvement: Identify and recommend IT-related improvement opportunities across the business.
Staff Training: Provide training and knowledge sharing on IT systems.
Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with company IT policies and procedures, reporting breaches when necessary.
Experience and Attributes Required: Essential Skills: Administration of Microsoft Windows Server (2008/2012/2016).
Experience with VMWare & Hyper-V virtualisation technologies.
Active Directory and GPO management.
Administration of Microsoft Exchange 2016 and SQL Server 2008.
Knowledge of networking principles, including Cisco technologies.
Experience with SharePoint administration and server hardware, including storage arrays.
Strong communication skills and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
Desirable Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision 2013 or newer.
Understanding of reporting systems like Jet Reporting.
Working Hours: Core hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00 (40 hours per week).
On-Call Rotation: Participation in an evening and weekend on-call rota, shared among team members.
Out-of-hours work may occasionally be required with prior notice.
