Role: IT Project Manager Location: London, UK (3days/Week Onsite) Duration: 6Months + Strong Banking background required Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead and oversee the successful execution of IT projects for our banking client.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing complex IT projects within the financial services industry, ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and seamless implementation.
The IT Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors, to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage end-to-end delivery of IT projects for the banking client, from initiation to completion.
Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, timeline, resources, and budget.
Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project outcomes.
Ensure alignment with the client's business goals, IT architecture, and security policies.
Act as the primary point of contact between the client and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and expectations.
Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including business users, senior management, and third-party vendors.
Regularly update stakeholders on project status, progress, and any issues or roadblocks.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including technical architects, developers, QA, and business analysts.
Foster a collaborative environment to encourage team engagement and efficient problem-solving.
Ensure the project team adheres to best practices, methodologies, and compliance standards.
Escalate issues promptly to senior management or stakeholders when necessary.
Ensure projects comply with industry regulations, standards, and the bank's internal policies (e.g., data security, privacy, and financial regulations).
Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and quality assurance to ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards.
Oversee the documentation and reporting of project progress, including scope changes, risks, and final outcomes.
Manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within financial constraints.
Allocate resources effectively to meet project timelines and deliverables.
Monitor and report on project expenditures and make adjustments as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
PMP, Scrum Master, or other project management certifications preferred.
5+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 3 years in the banking or financial services sector.
Proven experience managing large-scale, complex IT projects (e.g., core banking system upgrades, digital transformation initiatives, regulatory compliance projects).
Strong understanding of banking operations, financial products, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., PSD2, GDPR, Basel III).
Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Trello).
Desirable Skills & Experience: Experience working with third-party vendors and managing external relationships.
Knowledge of cloud-based banking solutions, APIs, or fintech innovations.
Experience in managing cybersecurity-related IT projects, especially in the banking domain.
