Role Purpose: As a Vendor Manager, you will serve as the essential bridge between the Commercial and Tech teams within the DDAT function for Staffordshire.
You will play a crucial role in aligning procurement strategies with IT service goals, ensuring successful outcomes for the organization.
Working closely with both procurement and IT services, you will provide expertise and support to facilitate smooth collaboration and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a bridge between IT and commercial teams, working within the DDAT function.
Collaborate closely with Procurement and IT services to ensure alignment and support across all projects.
Manage supplier relationships and contracts, ensuring effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Conduct due diligence to assess and manage vendors and software assets, identifying risks and proposing improvements.
Challenge and review software contracts and asset management strategies.
Leverage technical knowledge to advise and guide both procurement and technical teams in decision-making processes.
Maintain market awareness of software and technology trends to keep contracts and strategies current and effective.
The Person: We are seeking a proactive individual with a hands-on approach and a blend of technical and contract management experience.
You will need to demonstrate: Experience working in IT and managing contracts with suppliers.
A solid understanding of software assets and contract management.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Microsoft products and tools is desirable.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with procurement, contract managers, and technical teams.
Proven ability to conduct due diligence and identify opportunities for improvement in vendor and asset management.
Experience and Skills Required: Hands-on experience managing suppliers and contracts within an IT environment.
Strong technical knowledge related to software assets and contract management.
Proven experience in stakeholder management, working with both procurement and technical teams.
Ability to challenge software-related decisions and ensure compliance with technical and contractual requirements.
In-depth understanding of market trends, software licensing, and vendor strategies.
