General Description of Position Under the general direction and supervision of the Administrative Director of Client Services, the Information Systems Technician will install, configure, and maintain client workstation hardware and software systems and provide technical assistance to system users in a networked environment.
The technician will also be required to install, configure, and maintain client workstation peripheral equipment and audio/video systems in a networked environment.
This is a full-time regular position.Essential FunctionsUtilize the IT work order software, create and document work requests, and communicate work activity to users in a timely manner.Responds to user's inquiries in person, via email, and via telephone concerning client workstation operation.Provides training for users on the use of the technologySet up and deploy Windows and Apple client workstations for user applications.Use client management software to deploy Software packages and maintain administrative information on client workstations.Install, mount, configure, and maintain audio-video systems such as media carts, projectors, TVs, document cameras, digital signage, and audio/videoconferencing equipment.Install, configure, and troubleshoot specified licensed software packages.Troubleshoot, replace, and configure hardware and peripheral components for Windows and Apple client workstations, to component or modular level; using appropriate techniques and hand tools.Maintain working knowledge of methods and means needed for the appropriate disposition of expired equipment and peripherals, and documentation required.Maintain current working knowledge of network cable plug and jack terminations, and use of network testing methods and equipment.Assist other IT departments, as requested, in the assistance of installation and maintenance of other infrastructure and enterprise-supported devices and equipment.Assist departments and users, when requested, in researching information on new computer hardware and software to meet specific needs.Stay current on new software and hardware product developments.

Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree (A.A.) from a two-year college or technical school with an emphasis in electronics or computer technology with one (1) year of related work experience.
ORThree (3) years of verifiable full-time work experience in client workstation installation, configuration, and maintenance.
Desired Qualifications Work experience with terminating and troubleshooting Ethernet topology.Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite and its proper use.
