Information Security Engineer Role Overview The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining security protocols for classified systems.
This position involves secure network configuration, routine security assessments, and incident management to ensure compliance and security within classified environments.
Key Responsibilities Implement and sustain security controls for classified information systems Configure and manage secure networks and system settings Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans on classified systems Support the development and implementation of security policies tailored to classified environments Monitor and respond to security events and incidents within classified networks Assist in the certification and accreditation processes for classified systems Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and security protocols Collaborate with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve security issues Conduct security awareness training for system users Stay updated on cybersecurity threats and mitigation strategies specific to classified environments Qualifications Preferred: Advanced security certifications (e.g., CISSP, GIAC, CEH) Experience with security automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) Background in designing and implementing security architecture Required: Experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security and general IT practices Strong knowledge of network security, endpoint protection, and cloud security concepts Proficiency with SIEM tools and other security platforms Ability to conduct threat hunting, root cause analysis, and document security processes Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills Must be eligible for Secret or higher-level security clearance
