Job summary Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust Information Governance is looking for an individual to join a small team who understands the requirements of the Information Governance framework within the NHS that include the Data Protection Legislation, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Data Security Protection Toolkit.
Success of the post holder will depend on their ability to work unsupervised, be proactive with a rigorous approach to processing FOI requests working to a very high level of confidentiality and accuracy with meticulous attention to detail, working to communication and interpersonal skills are required including the ability to listen, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, dealing with internal and external enquiries.
Main duties of the job The post holder reports to the Head of Information Governance and is part of the Digital Directorate.
The primary role of this post is to undertake the day to day responsibility for formal access to information requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, maintain the Trust's Publication Scheme and disclosure log.
This post also supports the Information Governance team with administrative work in assisting with minute taking and updating IG reporting logs.

A video about the Royal Surrey - Job description Job responsibilities The main purpose of this role is to support the Information Governance Team to implement the Information Governance (IG) agenda throughout the organisation to enable the Trust to meet the legal and national requirements such as Data Security Toolkit, Data Protection Legislation, Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Department of Health guidance and mandates.The successful candidate will be part of a small Information Governance Team that provides support and advice to the Trust, clinical and non-clinical areas on all matters relating to the work of Information Governance.
It will be a varied role, primarily responsible for the co-ordination of Freedom of Information requests and supporting the Information Governance team.
Person Specification Qualifications Essential Degree level qualification or equivalent experience operating at this level.
Desirable Evidence or willingness to work towards and achieve qualifications in post covering FOI, IG qualifications Knowledge Essential Excellent knowledge of working practises of a large organisation.
Experience of planning and organising meetings.
The ability to maintain good working relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience of working in the NHS but not essential.
