Job Brief This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter to make a large contribution to the continued growth and success of SGX Index Edge.
Since its launch in 2015, SGX Index Edge has successfully established itself as an index solution provider to investment banks and asset managers across the Globe.
The role will sit in the Europe Index Development team and will be responsible for the index research and development.
The primary purpose of the role is to work with internal and external stakeholders to develop new indices, starting from idea conception, generation of simulations, index construction, analytics and commentary.
The individual will be responsible to grow the usage of iEdge indices among structured products and ETFs in Asia.
Key Deliverables Drive and generate thematic content, tailored both to institutional and retail audiences Responsible for end-to-end development of new equity index strategies across themes and strategies Analyze and interpret vast amounts of data across markets to build indices in line with the stated objectives Present various scenario analysis and proposals to internal stakeholders and clients Write detailed index rebalancing, review, and calculation methodologies, in line with stated objectives and in compliance with industry regulations Offer guidance to the operations team to ensure successful ongoing management of new indices Manage research and data vendor relationships (for both source and data delivery) Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in STEM subjects or Finance, Economics.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Index Management, index research or product development with an index provider or investment bank.
Similar experience will be considered as well.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills and the ability to work with large datasets to resolve non-standard problems in a timely manner.
Strong command of various index strategies and corporate actions treatment as well as a working understanding of regulations and day-to-day governance processes relating to financial indices.
Python programming skills and advanced MS Office skills are a must Experience with data vendor terminals Familiarity with ESG and Climate investing Needs to be articulate and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Keen interest in the trends within financial markets in areas such as asset management and ETFs A broad understanding of the index industry including key products, business dynamics and economic drivers.
A high attention to detail and a sense of urgency in resolving issues and responding to various client queries.
