To lead and manage the department's responsibilities around Pupils Missing education and Elective Home Education.
To lead and manage the department's responsibilities for Children with Medical Needs, including reducing the overspend associated with Children with Medical Needs (high needs funding) and developing a cost effective outcome lead provision for children who are unable to attend school due to medical needs.
To lead and manage the Information Advice and Guidance functions and review within the department.
To support the development of local provision to support young people to remain in mainstream education and the development of locality based provision for those who are unable to remain in mainstream.
To develop and implement an Inclusion strategy for the Department with actions to reduce exclusion (fixed term and permanent), improve attendance and improve the education experience and outcomes for vulnerable learners.
About YouTo apply for this post, you must have: Education of degree level Or Demonstrable substantial experience identified within the sections below.
Experience of establishing new and/or improved provision for children or young people with SEND or vulnerable needs.
Experience of consulting and negotiating with schools and academies regarding the provision of services for pupils.
Experience of reviewing and interpreting complex data to inform decision-making based on evidence.
Experience of meeting and consulting with children, young people and their families in order to discuss proposals for services and gather feedback.
A high standard of communication and presentation skills, including report-writing skills & the ability to relate to service users and staff at all levels of the department and in partner organisations.
Ability to plan ahead and work effectively to clear deadlines, with conflicting demands & under own initiative.
