IMPORT & EXPORT MANAGER - ONLINE FASHION/ SPORTS APPAREL CENTRAL MANCHESTER ONLINE FASHION SPORTS BRAND Our client a successful and rapidly expanding online fashion sports apparel brand based in central Manchester are now looking to recruit an experienced Import and Export Manager to join their team.
The successful candidate will have experience working for an online fashion brand or fashion supplier.

The role will develop over the next 6-12 months, as our brands gain more traction in the market and grow internationally.
Reporting to the Director and Head of Finance and working with our China production and shipping departments, the candidate will ensure that the import and delivery processes, for both companies, run smoothly and on time, while being able to deal with challenges as they emerge.
Responsibilities Include: • Coordinate import/export shipment activities, including customs clearance and documentation.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to imports and exports.
• Ensure adherence to global trade compliance standards, following the latest updates in international regulations and maintain the import/export compliance database.
• Manage all necessary documentation relating to import and export of our goods.
• Oversee the shipping process, logistics, warehouse activities, product delivery, etc.
• Coordinate with our China shipping team, freight forwarders, shipping companies and customs brokers to ensure timely & smooth delivery of goods.
• Manage the costs involved in export and import, including shipping costs, taxes and other logistics costs.
• Effective risk management, anticipating challenges such as geopolitical instability, shipping delays, and compliance risks.
• Ensure all parties involved stay informed about the shipping & delivery status and other major updates.
• Monitor all documents from our China office to ensure the correct pricing and commodity codes have been applied to the goods being imported to each market, • Prepare and submit required reports to Head of Finance.
About You: • 4 years+ experience in a similar role for an apparel or footwear brand.
• Knowledge of International Trade Laws and Regulations.
• Extensive knowledge on applying international trade tariffs.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and reporting skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• You will be flexible and adaptable, therefore able to work well with changing tasks and priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience liaising with colleagues and suppliers based overseas, particularly in China.
