Import Export Manager

Job Title: Import & Export Team Leader Location : Surrey, United Kingdom Salary: £40k-£44K We are seeking an experienced Import & Export Team Leader to manage the end-to-end flow of goods in and out of the UK and handling all necessary documentation to facilitate the smooth movement of goods.
Key Responsibilities Overseeing customer orders.
Issue export documentation in compliance with destination country regulations.
Maintain export trackers for up-to-date and accurate records.
Ensure import declarations are processed accurately Manage data flow on the e-customs clearance platforms Keep import trackers accurate and current.
Additional Duties: Lead and support team development Provide customs support for various UK location sites for imported goods and capital equipment and resolve any customs issues with HMRC.
Manage vendor contracts with freight forwarders, customs brokers, hauliers, and other third parties to maintain SLAs and cost agreements.
Prepare data for annual audits and conduct weekly and monthly audits to monitor process status.
Drive continuous improvement across all import/export processes, focusing on efficiency and minimizing manual tasks.
Essential Skills Team management experience needed Solid background in shipping, exports, freight forwarding, or customs.
Proficient in handling export/import documentation for EU and non-EU countries.
Knowledge of Incoterms, commodity codes, export regulations, and trade compliance.
Excellent data accuracy, numeracy, and multitasking skills.
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in troubleshooting customs entries.
