The Home Office is advertising Immigration Officer vacancies in our teams in Manston, Kent.
You don't need to have worked as an Immigration Officer previously in order to apply.
The Illegal Migration Intake Unit (IMIU), is responsible for the registration and screening of those arriving in the UK illegally.
This is important work and candidates must be honest, ethical, and professional and be able to engage with people from a range of backgrounds.
Recruits will join one of two teams within the Illegal Migration Intake Unit.
The Co-ordination Hub is a new team responsible for real time reporting and monitoring of operational events, operational planning, tasking and coordination, including deployment planning and logistical support.
The Manston Initial Processing and Triage Centre is focussed on adults and families arriving via small boats across the English Channel.
Full training and mentoring will be provided for these roles, and recruits will work as part of a supportive team.
It is a mandatory requirement for this role for all successful candidates to undertake a Personal Safety Training course, to the level requirement for the role.

Sound interpersonal communication (both written and verbal) skills, communicating clearly with enthusiasm.
Relationship building skills with a range of audiences; treating others with respect, compassion and valuing inclusion and diversity.
Ability to make effective and difficult decisions, often under pressure, applying legislation and policy guidance correctly to ensure compliance.
A good level of computer literacy, including Microsoft applications.
Please note that holding a full UK manual driving licence would be beneficial to the role, although this is not essential.

Salaries start at £25,750.
These roles also attract an allowance of approximately 44.71% to compensate for shift and out of hours working.
This is paid on top of your monthly salary.
