Job DescriptionCorporate ServicesCustomer and Digital Services ICT Manager (Microsoft Strategic, Development and Operations Specialist)Waverley CourtSalary: £52, - £62,Hours: 36 per weekAppointed to this critical role, you will use your well-developed skills, knowledge and experience to lead the organisation on all aspects of strategy, development, innovation, policy, operational delivery and general system management, ensuring the Council realise the full potential of Microsoft (M) and related services.As the in-house subject matter expert on M and related technologies, you will have significant influence on the successful adoption of applications and features and, in liaison with colleagues throughout the organisation, you will drive the fundamental change in operational practice promised by this and related productivity platforms.Key Responsibilities• Strategic and Technology Planning:- Lead on development, implementation and maintenance of strategic and operational plans for M and related services, supporting the Council's objectives.• Service Development:- Lead on design, implementation, integrations, enhancements, innovations and application additions and management of existing services and new M services.• Operations Management:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of M and related services, ensuring their reliability and performance.
Ensure all services are supported effectively.• Security Management:- Liaise with Council cyber security and information governance to ensure the security and compliance of M and related services.• User Support and Training:- With colleagues, provide expert-level support and training to end-users and IT staff, including development of a champions' network as a key enabler for adoption of M and related technologies.• Collaboration and Communication:- Work closely with business areas to ensure that M and related services meet user needs.• Governance:- Develop and manage a Council-wide M and related services Governance, Strategy and Planning Board, and relevant sub-groups.• Vendor Management:- With colleagues, manage relationships with vendors and service providers related to M and associated technologies.• Continuous Improvement: - Monitor M updates, industry trends and best practices to continuously improve M and related services.- Ensure optimal adoption of other similar productivity technologies where appropriate.• Other areas of relevance: - provision and configuration; monitoring and support; disaster recovery; policy enforcement.For an informal chat contact As part of our goal to improve our organisational culture and create a great place to work together for the people of Edinburgh, we want to make sure that we're bringing the best people into our roles, not just in their skills and experience but also in their approach to work.To help achieve this, we're changing the way we interview and assess candidates by moving from a competency-based interview approach to a behavioural and technical (skills for the job) based approach.
