We are recruiting for an experienced Hydraulics Engineer based within Cold Rolled Products at our site in Port Talbot, South Wales.
Reporting to the Pipe Services Manager, the purpose of the role is to plan and co-ordinate hydraulics maintenance activities, working as part of the Pipe Services Team, to support hydraulic maintenance across all areas of CRP.
To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: Responsible for maintaining/ improving the safety and reliability of hydraulic systems within CRP to minimise production delays.
Including work on hydraulic equipment, pumps, valves, filters etc.
Including , fault finding diagnosis and rectification..Manage the activities carried out by Tata engineering craft & contactors.Assist the department to reduce hydraulic oil consumption by reducing oil loss.Act as the departments senior responsible person for the fluid power permitry, including carrying out 3 year review of all the departments authorised and competent people, assisting with the training and testing of authorised people.Manage contract labour to carry out maintenance activities when required during normal operation / down shift / major stops.To manage maintenance of CRP hydraulic equipment accumulators and components to maintain PSSR compliance.Manage all work though the SAP system, to maintain records of all maintenance tasks carried out, and build maintenance history.Develop upgrades / improvements to improve reliability / combat equipment obsolescence issues and manage change through Management of change (MOC) database.Procurement of labour, tools, mobile plant and equipment as identified by a planned maintenance task or event.Safety systemsReview and author safe working procedures.Carry out monthly departmental fluid power audits and report centrally.Manage contract labour through PBS / CAT1 systems.Carry out Safety Audits as per schedule and on time.
Person Specification/Requirements: The ideal candidate will have detailed knowledge of Hydraulic and pressure systems maintenance and associated legislative compliance and also extensive working experience with the same.Educated to min HNC level 4 or equivalent, which will have normally been obtained through a craft apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or hold a modern apprenticeship certificate, but not essential.Youll also be offered support in developing your professional qualifications through an established, internal development centre.
