The Centre is to be maintained and operated in accordance with the Environmental Permit, Planning Permission, all FCC Group policies, along with any schemes or initiatives brought in by FCC and Wiltshire County Council.This vacancy is for a full-time position, working 5 days per week, however, we will consider requests for job shares to suit your lifestyle (working full days).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Our promise to you •Competitive salary•20 days annual leave (full-time working) plus Bank Holidays•Pension scheme•Life insurance•Discretionary bonus scheme•On the job training and progression•Recognition scheme•Refer a friend•Flexible benefits including high street savings, cycle to work scheme and Gymflex membership, holiday purchase and many more.•Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and the Best Doctors Service via our Wellbeing Platform.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------What will you be doing?•Identify, organise and prioritise workload among staff and ensure work is completed to FCC standard.•Demonstrate a polite and courteous manner to the public at all times, thereby providing an exemplary customer service to the Council and the public.•Demonstrate good communication skills towards the Area Supervisor, Manager, Site Attendants, Council, Environment Agency and the Public.•To assist the Area Supervisor in delivering, controlling and co-ordinating the safe and efficient operation of the HWRC in accordance with management instructions, all health & safety Working Procedures and Legislative Requirements, Planning Permissions, Waste Management Licence, E-Module Training, Safety Alerts and Toolbox talks at all times.•To be aware of, and conversant with the relevant details of the Waste Management Licence, Working Plan, Risk Assessments, COSHH Assessments, Emergency Procedures and other relevant health, safety & environmental documents as directed by the Area Supervisor.•Ensure all accidents, near-misses or dangerous situations are recorded and reported to your Area Supervisor or Manager.•To promote and enforce the need to maximise recycling levels across all Centres.•To control and co-ordinate all transport requirements at each Centre to ensure recycling and waste containers are always available and operational.•Ensure all legislative Duty of Care, Waste Carriers Certification and Consignment Note requirements/checks, along with the associated paperwork, is completed properly.•Generation of clear and factual information relating to all necessary paperwork on behalf of FCC and the Council.•To ensure that all site personnel are wearing issued uniforms and the correct PPE at all times.•Ensure that you and all other site staff observe all safety rules including nobody being allowed to climb into containers / skips.•Attend and participate in monthly meetings regarding achieved recycling rates and other site issues.•Formally record and report any breach of rules, act of dishonesty, malpractice or corruption by any member of the public, visitor to the site, or member of staff to the Area Supervisor or Manager.•Liaise with and carry out any reasonable and safe duties assigned to you by your Area Supervisor or Manager.•Ensure that no unauthorised person is allowed to sort, disturb, remove or interfere with any waste on the Centre.•Carry out any reasonable and safe duties assigned to you by your Supervisor or Manager.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------About UsWe are FCC Environment, one of the nation's leading waste and resource management companies.
