Humanities Teacher – Inspire Curiosity and Critical Thinking A welcoming and ambitious secondary school is seeking a passionate Humanities Teacher dedicated to inspiring students to understand the world and their place within it.
As a Humanities Teacher, you'll play a key role in shaping well-rounded, inquisitive thinkers who are engaged with both historical and contemporary issues.
Role Overview: Deliver engaging Humanities lessons : Teach across KS3 and KS4, specialising in one or more humanities subjects (e.g., History, Geography, Religious Studies), ensuring students grasp fundamental concepts and analytical skills.
Foster critical thinking : Encourage students to question, analyse, and interpret the world around them through thoughtful, discussion-based classes.
Encourage real-world connections : Help students make links between their studies and current global issues, understanding the impact of past and present on the future.
Collaborate and innovate : Work with a dedicated Humanities department, contributing to curriculum planning and sharing best practices to support a rich, dynamic classroom environment.
Prepare students for examinations : Provide focused support for GCSE exams, ensuring students are confident and equipped to succeed.
Ideal Candidate Profile: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) : Proven experience teaching one or more Humanities subjects at the secondary level.
Engaging and inspiring : Able to instil curiosity and a love for learning, motivating students of all abilities.
Classroom management skills : Experienced in fostering a respectful and productive classroom environment.
