Full-Time Humanities Teacher – Secondary School GSL Education are seeking a dynamic and passionate Humanities Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Havant, Hampshire .
This is a full-time maternity cover position, available from February/Easter, depending on notice periods, and will be for the full academic year.
The role offers a competitive salary between £30k to £50k per year, based on experience, from ECT through to the Upper Pay Scale.
This is a fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities of a Humanities Teacher : Deliver high-quality lessons across Humanities subjects (History, Geography, and Religious Studies).
Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that challenge and inspire students.
Assess, track, and provide feedback on students' progress to help them reach their full potential.
Create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages open discussion and debate.
Foster an interest in the Humanities by making learning engaging and relevant to students' lives.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and cohesive approach to curriculum delivery.
Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events related to Humanities.
Monitor student well-being and offer support where needed.
Required Qualifications for a Humanities Teacher : Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of the Humanities curriculum and a passion for the subjects.
Experience teaching Humanities at the secondary school level (ECTs welcome).
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire students to engage with complex topics.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team.
Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
