You will provide initial advice and guidance around terms and conditions, policies and procedures and employee relations.
This will include providing advice relating to sickness absence, annual leave, parental leave, capability, disciplinary, grievance and other schemes and benefitsYou will also contribute to the wider work of the HR team in respect of staff and organisational development, including training sessions as well as supporting the strategic development of HR services.If you are looking to continue your career in HR and want to work in a role which enables you to support managers and staff around employee relations issues as well as being able to get involved in project and development work then this could be the role you have been looking for.Predominantly home working, with some working from our Basildon office.
Main duties of the job We are looking for someone with both HR and employee relations experience, to join our small friendly team.
You will need to be comfortable working on your own initiative and communicating with a wide range of people.
Strong administrative, organisational and computer skills are essential, as well as the ability to prioritise workload to ensure changing demands are met.You will be a conduit for change and will need to quickly develop a good working knowledge of core business functions and processes, working with HR colleagues and key managers to develop plans to improve the ways that we do things.If you have a professional, can do attitude and a forward-thinking approach (ever seeking new and improved ways to do things), and want to be involved in supporting the HR Team to deliver on the NHS People Promise to make the ICB a place where people want to work then we look forward to receiving your application.

Job description Job responsibilities ROLE PURPOSE / SUMMARYThe Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System will comprise the Integrated Care Board (ICB), which is the statutory body for the NHS, and the Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), which is a committee of the ICB, and brings together key health, care, community and voluntary sector organisations across the area.The ICS has a bold ambition to deliver improved outcomes for our population through our four Alliances, and we are placing clinical and professional leadership and the voice of our residents at the heart of realizing this ambition.The HR Specialist Advisor will work alongside senior members of the HR team in providing a consistent and comprehensive proactive service to managers.
This includes, providing initial advice and guidance in relation to terms and conditions, employee relations, contractors, staff development, organisational change, ESR Self-Service and E-expenses, the production of workforce related statistical data and supporting the strategic development of the HR services.The post holder will be a conduit for change quickly developing a good understanding of core business functions and processes.COMPETENCY BASED KEY DELIVERABLESResponsible for decisions made during the course of duties, seeking guidance and escalating issues where appropriateAssist with the delivery of project plans and workstreams, as directed by line manager and raising any issues with delivery to line managerResponsible for the monitoring of one or more budgetsTo contribute to the provision of a consistent, comprehensive and proactive HR service to managers, including absence management, terms and conditions, employee relations, staff development and organisational changeTo provide accurate advice and support to staff and managers on the full spectrum of HR issues, ensuring compliance with existing polices and current employment legislationWork closely with HR transactional teams such as recruitment and payroll to ensure safe, compliant and people centred work environment.
Undertaking HR and workforce administration as required including arranging meetings, taking notes, booking rooms, updating systems and managing core administration of essential processes ( electronic probation / appraisal submission)Supporting the streamlining of HR and Workforce Development processes through the use of technologySupporting the implementation of HR led projects and initiatives, providing advice and support to managers and staff to ensure high quality information is input and extractedProducing ad hoc workforce information reports to support the OD work of the organisationContributing to the communication, launch and results analysis of projectsImproving the efficiency of HR processes and ensuring standardised / more efficient systems are implemented across the whole organisationProviding ad hoc training on various workforce related subjects and within realm of knowledgeLiaising with Directorates, HR staff, Finance and others in order to ensure that organisational structure charts are maintained for position data and Manager Self Service hierarchy on ESR; and as part of workforce information to be shared with managers and staff.Providing support to managers and staff in their use of ESR and other related workforce systemsSupporting improvements / changes to existing systems and supporting the introduction of new systems, within HR and the wider organisation.Supporting key projects within the HR department - including administration of projects, updating of information, recording information (electronically) and producing information to support the work of the team ( training sessions)Provide initial advice on policies and procedures relating to absence, capability, disciplinary, grievance, new parent leave, annual leave and other schemes and benefits etc.Supporting senior HR colleagues in the administration of employee relations cases including notetaking at meetings, preparation of relevant correspondence, setting up disciplinary hearings, meetings and workshops for panels Person Specification Knowledge / understanding Essential Understanding of the importance of confidentiality Understanding of and commitment to Equality and Diversity Excellent advanced working knowledge in a range of packages including MS Word and MS Excel, and willing to learn new packages and advance current skills Skills Essential Good communications skills using a range of methods written and verbal High level of attention to detail Ability to plan workload considering conflicting priorities and deadlines Partnership Working / Leadership Management Essential Ability to demonstrate commitment to delivering the NHS People Promise and the ICB Values Challenges within remit of the role and escalates appropriately where these principles are at risk of not being upheld Ability to work as part of a team or independently Professional and approachable manner Other Essential Intuitive, good judgment and the ability to communicate thoughts clearly and simply Possess a positive attitude Ability to travel to attend meetings and attend for work at several locations, including home, for the purpose of hybrid working Qualifications Essential Degree or training and experience in relevant role to the equivalent of degree level.
Experience Essential Experience of working in a HR environment Substantial experience of working in a senior administration environment Experience of providing initial advice on employee relations Experience of managing incoming and outgoing information requirements, handling correspondence/queries which may be complex, sensitive or highly confidential Experience of delivering training to small groups or on a 1:1 basis and ability to train staff on a one to one or small group basis
