Special requirements for this postLead and Develop Housing Strategies: Drive the development and implementation of innovative housing strategies, ensuring alignment with national policies, local priorities, and the needs of diverse communities.Policy and Planning: Lead on housing policy development, working with internal teams and external partners to address housing supply, affordability, and sustainability challenges.Partnership Working: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including housing providers, developers, government bodies, and community organisations, to deliver on housing priorities.Performance Monitoring: Ensure the effective monitoring and evaluation of housing initiatives and strategies, reporting on outcomes and recommending improvements.Innovation and Improvement: Stay ahead of the latest housing trends, legislative changes, and funding opportunities, ensuring that the council's housing strategy remains progressive and responsive to emerging challenges.Resident Engagement: Ensure residents' voices are central to shaping housing services and that strategies reflect their needs and expectations.About youWe're looking for an experienced and proactive leader with a strategic mindset, a strong understanding of housing policy, and the ability to manage complex projects. You'll have a proven track record of delivering housing strategies in a local authority or similar environment and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills to work with a range of stakeholders.
