Housing & Services Manager - Portsmouth – Up to £ per annum (dependant on experience) – hours per weekOur client either owns or manages nearly rented, charitable sheltered flats for people aged over with an ex-service background, and their partners.
The organisation has been independently assessed as an 'Accredited Provider' under the erosh* Code of Practice.
The flats are split between 8 schemes (3 of which belong to a charity), each with a Scheme Manager (although the two smallest share one).
Six locations are situated either side of Portsmouth Harbour with another two being further afield (in Greenwich, London and Saltash, Cornwall).
For the Portsmouth schemes, there are 2 maintenance staff who both report to the Housing & Services Manager.
The role also manages day-to-day external contractors and for the right person this will be a very rewarding, busy, hands-on appointment, making a difference to the lives of hundreds of people.
We are looking for an experienced person to manage the day-to-day service delivery of an efficient and effective H&S, Repairs, Allocations & Voids service to ensure our commitment to tenants is delivered efficiently and to Regulatory standards.Applications from ex-Service personnel are welcomed.
Applicants should also understand and be able to consider and display empathy and understanding of the needs of elderly tenants.
Candidates must have a clean driving licence, a car and live, or be prepared to live, within easy commuting distance of Portsmouth, Gosport and Fareham.
Basic DBS clearance will be requested.

Housing and Services Manager Essential Criteria: Experience in housing or a related industry, with knowledge of repairs, maintenance, and tenancy management.Strong communication and negotiation skills with the ability to connect with residents and organizational teams.Previous managerial experience, including team motivation and development.Proficiency in IT, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Full driving license with access to a car insured for business purposes.DBS clearance (or eligibility to obtain it).
Housing and Services Manager Desirable Criteria: Familiarity with the Armed Forces environment and Sheltered Housing.Relevant housing or Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH) or professional membership (e.g., Chartered Institute of Housing).Experience in record-keeping and data management within a Housing Management System.
