Job DescriptionTo assist the Asset Manager (Housing) to develop a strategic approach with regards to the repairs and maintenance of the Council's housing stock and to ensure that all legislative requirements are met and maintained.RequirementsTo assist in the development, administration and implementation of the Council's Capital and Revenue Planned Maintenance Programme including response repairs.To act as the department's representative, to protect the customers interests and to ensure achievement of good quality work in liaison with other departments, sections, consultants and contractors.To protect the Council's repairs and maintenance budgets by actively controlling expenditure and ensuring that all repairs ordered offer the Council value for money.To promote positive behaviours in the workplace and promote safe working within the Housing and Property Service.The IndividualSound building technology knowledge and experienceHouse condition survey experienceComputer literacy, use of a range of databases and spreadsheetsDemonstrable experience working in a Housing Asset, Repairs and Maintenance role or equivalent.Technical knowledge of property repairs/maintenance or improvement works.SVQ3, HNC or recognised apprenticeship in a building or surveying disciplineAbility to manage complex situations and find appropriate solutionsWillingness to take on additional tasksFull driving licence and use of car for work purposesWorked in property repairs/maintenance or improvement environmentAbility to monitor and negotiate with contractors and consultantsAbility to prioritise own workloadAbility to work on own initiativeGood knowledge of relevant legislationAbility to liaise with internal and external agenciesProvide technical advise and guidance to a range of stakeholdersGood communication skills verbal and writtenFlexible attitude to team workingApproachable and flexibleAble to attend meetings out of office hours when requiredGood standard of general health and fitness requiredAbility to climb stairs, ladders and scaffolding Closing Date: 31 January Starting Salary: £37,.90 Per Annum£19.74 per hour36.25 hours per week For further information, please contact Tracey McKie, Housing Asset Manager on
