We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government in Derbyshire who are recruiting for a Housing Litigation Lawyer on a three-to-six-month temporary contract .
This position is on a full-time contract of 35 hours per week.
This organisation is offering a remote role that requires just one day in-office week with court attendance when needed and a negotiable rate dependent on experience .
Duties will include (but are not limited to): Conducting case work in all levels of court, issuing and defending proceedings on behalf of the Council Developing and maintaining an expert knowledge of the law and practice in relation to housing and community safety issues, providing expert legal advice Representing the Council in Court hearings undertaking own advocacy, and in meetings with other authorities Assisting the Senior Lawyer, Principal Lawyer and Head of Legal in identifying the training needs of clients, and maintaining key relationships with Elected members, external firms and all relevant partner organisations Holding responsibility for the promotion and implementation of all of the Council's policies and procedures including equality and diversity, health and safety, security and use of personal data Working hours: Full time (35 hours a week) Monday to Friday Hybrid working with once-a-week office presence and Court attendance Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
