Hospital Veterinary Surgeon

Details of the offer

We are excited to be working with a 24-hour RCVS small animal accredited hospital based in Essex. Only a short 30 mins by train into London as well as direct transport links to Southend and Stanstead airports. We are looking for a surgical bias Vet to come and join this exceptional team!

With the best of both worlds, also only being a 25-minute drive to the seaside.

The Team: You'll be joining a large team of 14 vets , with surgical and medical certificate holders. Others are currently undergoing their various certificate programmes in cardiology and medicine. The nursing team is one of their assets as they have a very accomplished nursing team, many schedule 3 and imaging trained, and lots with post-graduate certificates. In addition to this, they also have 1 Hydrotherapist, 1 Physiotherapist, and 12 Client Care Advisers.

The Facilities: Join a practice with state-of-the-art facilities, including a CT scanner and new MRI, hydrotherapy, and physiotherapy services. They offer first opinion small animal care, as well as emergency, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, imaging, and rehabilitation services. Due to expansion, they're seeking an experienced clinician with a surgical bias, passionate about working in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment and committed to clinical excellence. An interest in laparoscopic surgery is a plus but not essential.

Other key highlights: The candidate must be a competent surgeon who can perform most standard emergency procedures and have the ability to manage complex medical cases. 4-day week; 1 in 4 weekends; 40-hour rota. Separate dedicated night team so no OOH. Attractive salary package up to £70,000 depending on experience with a good supportive management structure. They also actively support vets who are interested in obtaining specialist certificates. On offer is a range of benefits such as subsidised private healthcare and discounts. Sponsorship for tier 2 (general) visas is available for suitable vet applicants.
